John, Lehman pulled a "reiteration" on AMAT (buy) and upgraded KLAC (not sure of the rating). Don't know if it's the mother of all short squeezes. Could be more like the twisted, runty step-daughter. We'll see how confident the pond scum who front-ran the Goldman call are Monday and Tuesday. I'm no zoologist, but I'd say these characters would fall into the general category of invertebrates. I have to laugh whenever I read about the SEC, NASD, etc. losing good lawyers and enforcement agents. The commentators seem to think it has something to do with the pay. IMHO, it comes down to more of a matter of frustration. Some people will work for lower pay if they believe what they are doing is important, but no one wants to bust their ass for superiors who give the impression of lacking the political will to use their work.
