Good Morning Jane and Everyone, I wish I could play a midi piece like Alans I thought it was funny this morning.
I can share some of what I know about the Feast and how He fullfiled them. He is the Word of God and the fullfilment of it in every way. The beginning of the Jewish year is the Feast of Trumpets. The sequence of blasts I mentioned earlier send tingles up your spine. They are loud and a Shofar (Rams Horn is used). The series of blasts are several short blasts by each of the four blowers and it builds in length until the final trumpet on that day which is all four at one time starting soft and increasing in volumne to symbolize Gods Spirit coming down on Mount Sinai. Every year I look up and hope this to be the moment of the Churchs rapture.Even though this is not the true final blast which occurs on Yom Kippur(The Day of Atonement).Yeshua refers to a coming that will be like a thief in the night maybe this is the Rapture synbolized by the final trumpet on Rosh Hashana.
Anyway this begins a period of serious repentance until a final fast and prayer on Yom Kippur.I believe it is not required to gain or keep salvation but I don't think it hurts us to reflect on the year and put our mistakes on the cross with the Lord instead of carrying them around with us, 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithfull and just and will forgive us of all unrighteousness. Wow sounds like a good thing to do to me. If a sheep does not get sheared the weight of its wool will make it lay down and die. We should go regularly and get sheared by our Sheperd so we can bust out of the stall and spring our heels up in the fields. In Mark 2:18-22 we see the that the Pharisees and Johns disciples were all fasting. According to scripture Yom Kippur is the only required fast in the Bible. It had to be a time when they would notice the disciples of the Lord not fasting. The Lords response was they will not fast will I am with them,(I believe He was there Korban while He was with them) Then He says when the time comes and the Bridegroom is taken from them then they will fast. That is why I fast and pray and have communion on Yom Kippur. I think it is good to seek a closer walk with the Lord at all times but especially at His appointed times. In future context many believe Yom Kippur to be the time of Jacobs trouble between the rapture and the final end of all things. I am not sure how I feel about this but we hopefully will be with Him and know all things.
Next is the Feast of Tabernacles which is joyus and a celebration of Ingathering ( bringing the people of God together) a time of harvest. If you refer to earlier post you can see that Shalom and I feel that this was fullfilled by His birth and has strong future references in Zechariah 1316-19.
At the end of Tabernacles is Simhat Torah. This is the completion of reading the entire Torah on Sabbaths (Saturday services) through the year. How interesting that at His birth they celebrate the completion of the Torah.Anyway they dance around with the Torah and thank God for revealing himself through His Word. Then they rerap the scroll that has the Torah on it.
Since there are 7 Feast I will continue the others later. Have blessed day in the Lord, Love, Nancy
