If there was no first temple, then there would have been much less reason to build the second temple in a series of events that were pretty well documented. I do agree that antiquities of that period are difficult to find.

Some Israeli archaeologists are concerned that the whole archaeological record has been seriously contaminated and distorted by the forgers' activities.

What are the odds, since 98% of these all 'biblical finds' in the last 300yrs have all been forgeries & fakes! <bg

( we are excluding all the earlier promiscuous trade in 'authentic' medieval relics & clever faked death shrouds etc)
