The only thing going on is the absorbtion of this way too expensive acquisition but other than that BORL is going to have a pretty easy time filling their bottom line. Corporate intranets will continue their expansion as Java continues to go forward -- they are now claiming competitive performance with C++ in Java 1.2 and that's not surprising. Even the throw-away business from IBM and Oracle will keep BORL shares well fed. Now, they have to continue to enhance their development environment and their collateral material is still the worst in the business, but the immediate problem is the price of this VSGN buyout. I think Oracle needs to buy BORL to compete with MSFT and IBM and that's without taking in to consideration the fact that they already depend on BORL technology.

Well Matty, it depends on your view of BORL. I am long, and while I would have preferred to get out at 12, and back in at 8, that is hind sight. BORL's position as a leading provider of tools has only increased with the Visigenic deal. It is to late for stops, but in the future, if you are not committed to the long term success of a company, then you might want to use stops to prevent what has happened with BORL. I chose not to because I did not want to take the tax hit in 97, and hence I took the risk of not selling.

Since I am confident that BORL will continue to performa, I am not overly concerned.
