Jesus Christ, if he even existed, was probably a short, squatty, dark skinned or black Jew. Would have looked a lot like a Brooklyn pawn broker.

When you see bentway posting something from AlterNet about Jesus, you can be assured it will be a pack of lies.

We have no record of anything that was written about Jesus by eyewitnesses or other contemporaries during the time he would have lived or for decades thereafter

In fact, the NT is mostly the result of eyewitness testimony written within 40 years of his life on earth. Between 62 and 70, Peter, Paul, and James were martyred and Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. The writers of the NT don't mention any of this. The best explanation for that is that the NT precedes those events. One exception may be the book of Revelations which contains a veiled reference to Nero, who had Peter, Paul and many other Christians in Rome put to death.

“Within 150 years of their lives, Jesus is mentioned by an equal number of secular sources as the Roman emperor of his day.”
