He apparently pulled a Limbaugh with that speech. Went too far in a direction that most people don't want to go.

Most people but apparently Rs are loving it. He is second in most polls.

They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists and some, I assume, are good people...

The "I assume" was the pièce de résistance.

He couldn't so much as get himself to say that some Mexicans are good people. He had to qualify this with "I assume". This put him completely over the top.

"I'm going to assume Trump's 3 wives loved him."

Wow. What an incredible amount of damage... damning through feint praise I believe is the expression ... the word "assume" can do.

By adding the word "assume" he can now safely walk back the small allowance he has made that some Mexican immigrants may not be drug running rapists, LOL.

It seems almost as in in making his bigoted right wing attack on Mexicans, he felt somehow he had to protect himself from someone saying he was being too soft.
