Successfully installed Ubuntu 15.04 from the ISO burned onto a DVD. Hard drive was a 2TB with an existing XP/Win7-64 dual-boot.

Do like the latest GNOME bootloader, but hadn't installed Ubuntu for a few years and don't know when they improved it.

Think Jim's problem was a bad download or dvd burn.

have a lot of software installed on 14.04.
Know that it's a misconception, but I've always viewed the linux distros as limited to surfing the web and word processing.
