No I don't know their fate, but I wish them luck. AFAIK, such attempts have been tried many times in different places, but I don't know if any have succeeded. For obvious reasons, neither the providers nor the insurance companies are in favor of it. Insurance as a payment mechanism, is a disaster for cost containment. It is in the interests of all involved except the consumer, for prices to spiral upwards. So that is exactly what happens.
