HH, The chart looks bullish especially compared to other tech leaders like AMAT, COMS, DELL and CPQ. I have seen a lot of trucks at the loading dock in Poughkeepsie, home of the mainframe. IBM does a lot of manufacturing and parts procurement in Asia. My guess is that the 4Q earnings will surprise on the upside. This optimism re. IBM and Microsoft's troubles would make me a happy camper if I could find a few good stocks to buy with the funds I have on the sidelines. AMAT looks like it might be ready to start a move up. Time frame is key! If in the next few months you can pick IBM up at 70 or 80 bucks a share -- In 2-3 years you might do alright. I think it's a poor choice for the next 3 - 6 months at anything above 70 - 80 bucks a share, but I'm no prudential or merril lynch. Stick with the advice of those you trust. I wish you well. Anything close to the recent high and I'll be short again.
