(NEWSER) – American police officers could learn a thing or two from Norway's men in blue, though perhaps not in terms of accuracy: Newly released stats show Norwegian officers, who typically don't carry guns, threatened to use their weapons 42 times last year but only fired twice; they missed both times and there were no injuries in either case. Even the number of cases involving threatened use was at its lowest in 12 years, reports the Washington Post. Conversely, some 400 people have been shot and killed by police in the US so far this year. The last time a person was fatally shot by police in Norway was in 2006, reports the Local.
