It is our generosity and gift-giving that encourages the people toward a middle-class mentality and that justifies the values of freedom and democracy. The main weapon of communist countries has always been censorship and propaganda. The Cuban need for tourism has been a two-edged sword: It brings money to the island. But it also brings ideas. When a middle class develops, it indicates the demise of Communism. It is tourism and personal contact with the citizens of Cuba (such as forward thinking Canadians participate in) that promotes the motivation and the slow accretion of resources that produces a middle class. Once the middle class is there...so is Capitalism. China is capitalistic now in the underbelly. You didn't know that?? You are just too stupid to see or understand anything! With you everything is black or white, us or them, the devil or handsome young Jesus! You see everything hiding behind the ant-hill of your life (and your little computer). Other Canadians look from high hills or mountains. As a superstitious 6000 year old earth enthusiast, you need to take some pretty bizarre positions in life! We have certainly seen that here!
