At any rate, let us go now to AEI, which is shaking its darn head over what happened to Chipotle restaurants in San Francisco: • San Francisco, however, saw across-the-board price increases averaging over 10%, including 10% increases on chicken, carnitas (pork), sofritas (tofu), and vegetarian entrees along with a 14% increase on steak and barbacoa.We believe the outsized San Francisco price hike was likely because of increased minimum wages (which rose by 14% from $10.74 per hour to $12.25 on May 1) as well as scheduled minimum wage increases in future years (to $13 next year, $14 in 2017, and $15 in 2018). As AEI goes on to note, this is not really surprising at all. The fiscal illiterates that make up the higher minimum wage advocacy movement have always operated under a particular, peculiar religious dogma: they truly believe that Capitalist Demons steal all of the People’s Money – and then eat it, or something. Look, I don’t really need to waste valuable brain space on a third-rate theology that can’t even exist on its own outside of academic greenhouses, OK? Suffice it to say that these people don’t know anything about how businesses operate, but still think that they do. As you can see, plug in that combination of reckless confidence and slack-jawed idiocy into a convenient Blue State government matrix, and voila! – You get bad, self-defeating policy. The crimes committed by illegal aliens released from federal custody include homicide, sexual assault, theft, kidnapping and alcohol-related driving convictions. In all, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) freed 36,007 aliens convicted of 88,000 crimes from detention centers throughout the United States, according the breathtaking agency records, which were obtained this month by a nonpartisan research center dedicated to studying immigration issues. The Washington D.C.-based group, Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), published a chart with a breakdown of the crimes committed by the illegal aliens who now roam freely in unsuspecting U.S. neighborhoods. Of interesting note is that the majority of the releases from ICE custody were discretionary, CIS found, which means they weren’t required by law. In some instances the releases were actually contrary to law and local illegal immigrant sanctuary policies did not play a role in the vast majority. This indicates that it’s part of the Obama administration’s broader amnesty policy, which has favored letting illegal aliens live outside detention centers while their cases get resolved. Let’s take a look at the breakdown of crimes committed by this latest batch of freed illegal aliens. The records show that more than 16,000 were convicted of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Over 9,000 had dangerous drug convictions, 1,075 were convicted of aggravated assault, 426 of sexual assault and 193 of homicide. Additionally, the records show that 1,160 of the freed illegal immigrants had stolen vehicle convictions, 303 kidnapping convictions and 303 flight escape convictions. The effect is much as you might expect. Via the Washington Times: All told, 121 immigrants who were held but eventually released by ICE went on to commit “homicide-related offenses” from 2010 through 2014, the agency said. It said 33 of those were ordered released by immigration courts and another 24 were released because of a 2001 Supreme Court decision capping the time an immigrant can be detained to six months. But a majority of the releases were at ICE’s discretion. In a statement Monday, ICE said that a criminal record isn’t enough to qualify for mandatory detention under agency policies. “When making custody determinations, ICE performs an individualized review of the individual’s immigration history and criminal history, pursuant to the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA),” the agency said. “In accordance with the requirements of the INA, not all criminals are subject to mandatory detention and thus may be eligible for bond.” http://www.redstate.com/2015/07/07/human-cost-obamas-immigration-policy/

Dem activist who threatened 12 yo black kid to face justice Charges pressed against top Dem activist who threatened 12-year-old Obama critic July 7, 2015 \| Lauren Cooley \| The woman who launched an online campaign of bullying and veiled threats against Internet sensation CJ Pearson, frightening the young conservative’s family enough to drive the boy briefly out of politics late last week, has been identified as a “top Democratic activist” from Baltimore. And the Pearson family is planning to press charges. According to a Facebook posting Sunday by Ali A. Akbar of Vice and Victory, a consulting firm that works with CJ, the woman behind the Twitter account “Mona Hussein Obama” is actually named Mona Brown. “What she did was against the law,” Akbar said on the video, vowing to “expose a troll, a bully, a grown adult and top Democrat activist in Maryland for bullying a 12-year-old.” Late last week, Brown began her Twitter campaign of harassment against Pearson in retaliation for Internet videos harshly critical of Obama that have made the boy an Internet sensation. Her tweets ranged from insults — “your fam has been bowing down to white ppl” — to hints of violence “Wish we could switch Trayvon’s life for yours.” On Facebook Friday, the 12-year-old announced he had had enough. “After much thought and consideration, I’ve decided to take a break from politics and political commentary,” he wrote. “I had a horribly rough night on Twitter after a woman not only threatened to sue me for expressing my opinions but threatened my family.” The boy handed over his social media accounts to Vice and Victory, which quickly set up a support fund and hashtag #StandWithCJ. CJ’s Facebook page now includes an apology Brown sent after her true identity became known. “I apologize and am deeply ashamed of the horrible statements I made to @cjpearson,” she wrote. She then goes on to complain about how “the right wing” is attacking her family — apparently missing the irony that she earlier attacked the Pearson family and wished for their death. RUH ROH: Bernie Sanders Rips Obama’s Fictional Labor Reports; "Real Unemployment is 10.5%!"

Self-professed Socialist and Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders is surging in the polls as Granny Catlady's campaign continues to implode. Most recently, Sanders drew a crowd of 7,500 in a city with 66,000 residents (in other words, over 48%, but I'm no mathematician, my numbers could be off).

Earlier today, Sanders ripped a key White House economic fable stating that the real U.S. unemployment rate is double what the Obama administration claims.

“When you talk about the economy we also have to have an honest assessment of unemployment in America,” Sanders told a crowd of 7,500 gathered at a presidential campaign rally in Portland, Maine.

“Once a month the government publishes a set of figures, and the last figures they published said that official unemployment was 5.4 percent,” the Democratic nominee continued, slightly misstating the Labor Department’s most recent report which put June’s unemployment rate at 5.3 percent.

“But there is another set of government statistics,” Sanders continued, “and that that real unemployment if you include those people who have given up looking for work and the millions of others who are working part-time 20, 25 hours a week when they want to work full-time, when you all of that together, real unemployment is 10.5 percent.”

Aside from being a radical Marxist kook, Sanders has plenty of other skeletons in his closet.

[ For example, Sanders blames cervical cancer on the women who get it, claiming if they weren't so uptight and prudish they wouldn't have gotten cervical cancer. ]
