Rod,

Not a waste at all and very helpful and informative. Comments from folks like you are the main reason this site is my main cyber-home for investment discussions now.

Would be interested in your thoughts about the two wells that Harken is drilling now. Looks like a toss-up as to which one will get announced first. I've heard differing opinions about how risky the Catalina well is, both from a geological aspect and a mechanical aspect (due to the directional drilling). Would like to know yours if you would care to share it.

P.S. When is Copeland Energy gonna go public man! Get the bucks while the market is still up.

Rod: Thank you for your excellent post. I do not have any expertise in the O & G field other than those lessons learned in being invested in a variety of exploration co's over the last five years. However, I have learned a great deal from other professionals who have shared their expertise on SI, and the bottom line is that all of the sophisticated imagery in the world does not prove oil until you punch a hole in the ground and test what you've found. Even oil shows while drilling may turn out to be non-commercial. I and others have been flamed royally for trying to balance out of control discussions of billion barrel oil finds on other threads, based solely on seismic studies. Don't be surprised if you encounter the same treatment, and I hope it doesn't discourage you from sharing your expertise.

Happy Holidays!

Alex

Excellent post-I will be picking your brain in future posts about the nuts and bolts of the business-with your permission of course.. But thanks for the insight and sharing your highly intelligent thoughts. Also, please comment on Seven Seas discovery in the Magdallena, since it is highly relevant to HEC. Or is it?
