Love that post Lee.
I think this stock will fly in 98'
I also believe that the delay in 56k standards may have worked in ascend's favor. ........It bought them a little time to fix the "problems" with the max tnt.
Good Luck

I see ASND as the "spearhead" for the rest of the market. We know tech leads the market. ASND was and is one of the highest growth large cap. techs. and therefore will react to any slowdown in growth much faster than the average tech stock and the overall market.

Lee,

As proof of what you are saying (with which I agree), just look at the comparative stock performance charts that I post. ASND is ahead of the NWX and, therefore, most networking stocks. It tanked first and, so far, has recovered ahead of the NWX.

Nice analysis re. the rest of what you said as well.

Lee - great post:

This is the best summary of the asnd situation I have read.

Let's hope hope the Drillers will come back and we will all profit from the high grade oil that gushes up from these wells.

Happy Holidays..
Chris

P.S. - long asnd and sdc.

<<IMHO ASND will move higher because the price is cheap and it's
fundamentals are improving, while most other stocks are expensive
and their fundamentals are deteriorating.>>

I fully agree. This makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, all the
lemmings move as one, say the same words, etc. - but don't really
SEE. Perception is their reality (maybe that's all reality is?) and
until perception changes (4Q earnings, CC or major new contract),
they will keep spouting the same old BS. Fortunately some on SI do
THEIR OWN research and have the confidence to make up their own minds.

Most of my decisions this year have been right on, except for ASND
and MRVC. MRVC is strictly down on Asia - fundamentals keep getting
better every quarter, so the only thing to do is wait this out (well
not the ONLY thing - I did buy Mar $22.5 calls when it hit
it's low of $21.)

ASND is more complicated and in addition to Asia involves technical
issues with 56K and TNT that noone on the thread could have clearly
forseen, followed by this management lack of trust thing.

The market is like a pendulum that never comes to rest - it always
overreacts one way or another. Right now the pendulum is all the way
left, but starting to swing back and will of course overshoot (can't wait).

Nice imagery. But the bottom-line issue is this -- how sure are you that this company will keep increasing its earnings, and that too, by 35%, for 3 to 5 years? I don't think any analyst has any clue to these things. They are just throwing around some numbers.

Dipy.

Lee,

Nice job!!! Great bullish analysis. I don't know about others but I sure needed that one. I held off selling at 30+ and since then I've been hurting... Try kicking your own butt every two steps and you'll know what I mean. You must lead the cheering squad in college... you do it well.

Thanks,
SM
