No, the Greeks voted the way they did because things cannot get worse than they are. Their banks are effectively shut down. Unemployment is 25% plus. They have already suffered much of what would happen if they left the Euro. So what do they have to lose?

And they have no more furniture left to burn so they can keep warm this winter.

It is going to be a very long, hard road for them in coming back. Just as it will for us. It will take a generation or more. They, like us, haven't come to terms with their situation. Although, they will over the coming year if a last minute deal of some kind isn't struck.
