Iraq demos are for the entire world. Vietnam is mainly the US.

" hypocrisy of the left being anti-war but pro-draft"
I told you; without a draft, there really isn't much of a peace movement. People get more motivated when it's their butt, or their kid's, on the line than when it's just volunteers.

"they would not want to force anyone "
We don't; we want to force everybody; politician's kids, millionaire's kids, talk show hosts, home run hitters, everybody who says, "support the troops". What better way to support troops than part of them? What better way to get talk show hosts to say they were wrong, and maybe war isn't such a good idea, than sending them a letter with their appointment for an induction physical? What could be better than watching some rabid winger flee to a socialist country like Sweden or Canada in order to avoid Iraq?

Unlike YOU, WR and I were there to protest BOTH of those idiot wars. So, I think we'd know the size of the protests better than you, don't you think?

Our protesting Vietnam caused LBJ not to run for re-election and for the war to be ended. In the end, most Americans joined us in opposing it. America and real Americans just aren't into these wars fought for corporations and war profiteers.

Unlike WR, I'm anti-war and anti-draft. But, I get why he's pro-draft.
