The common sociopathic elements...A total absence of altruism, conscience... represented by most major religions including Christianity I think most religions are just tax free private enterprises, usually selling super-protections during life, and afterlife insurance-- in some cases including young virgins or your own planet. More Karz4Kidz and Stairway to Heaven than profound universal spirit with bottoms-up power of self-determination. Spreading ignorance, and fear of critical-thinking science, and denying human power to preserve or destroy the earth (or determining who wins the Super Bowl) churches are unwitting enablers of crimes against life impersonally, for power and profit of others and sometimes their own masters in frocks. This is not to say that some local congregations do not perform a community service. SOME do not fleece their flock, or rule with shame and fear of OTHERS etc., and they provide social, emotional and other support and comfort. And one major religion with an historic Pope has been spreading words of tolerance and saving the planet. That story is still unfolding and I worry for Francis. Religion-based jihadists in a broad sense not much different than Big Oil fatcats vs. the planet. Or subsidized out-of-control greedy pharma vs. the poor and middle class, draining the sickest among us of all their life savings in exchange for some hope. Its all starts with controlling thoughts and memes of the people - with power going up the pyramid to a few assholes.
