Fuchi, Thanks. It's a bit of a gamble, but I have to give it a shot before I'm too old and tired. I will be developing a tool that takes 2D layout data, translates it into 3D based on layer thicknesses, applies a grid, and then numerically solves for the 3D interconnect capacitances between metal routes and the substrate. These types of tools are becoming incresingly important in the design of high performance circuits. They are very expensive, so if I can pull it off, I might make a buck. If not, I can always go back and work for someone else, and I'll have learned someting interesting. I'm giving myself two years to get something out the door. Hopefully, NSM will perform well during that time. Pravin.
