"not counting Norway, Finland, and Israel as part of Europe... It's ridiculous to take one incident (in Norway) where 77 people were slaughtered and normalize that to it's population and then compare it to the US with 38 incidents..."

Its ridiculous, in the first place, to attempt an association with rampage killings (which are usually performed in restrictive or gun free zones) to a lack of restrictions. We all know, even you, rampage murder is the product of a heinously brutal insane mind. It has not been determined that the protective benefits offered to the general population are outweighed by the risks imposed by the availability in general in a free country. If/when a nanny state attempts to restrict access to things that are seen as beneficial to the general population, we always see the harm of those things being escalated by opportunists in the criminal/insane segments of the population. If you were to focus your concerns on that population, I would join you in such a campaign, but we both know your agenda is aimed at law abiding conservatives. Clean up Chicago, start focusing your concern on criminals, then talk to me. tsk
