It all depends on who shows up at the polls. I'm thinking Hispanics might be a little more energized, now that they know how the republicans really feel about them :-) Looking at the pitiful job numbers of Bush the elder and Bush the idiot, it's pretty clear dems are better for jobs. They're also better for peace, better for the environment, and better for working men and women, and the poor. They might be seen as "worse" for the wealthy- if tax rates actually get raised- but really, the wealthy benefit from a stable and healthy society, so really, with the democrats everyone wins, and with republicans everyone loses. As the country shifts toward a majority of democrats, I have to think people are beginning to figure that out.

Republicans, of course, will still try to use the race baiting, scary terrorist, immigrants are bad, watch out for the criminal behind your bedroom door, blow jobs for big business, and why are women allowed to get abortions? platform- but I'm not sure that's a winning strategy. We'll see.

<<<< Hard to win when you are on the wrong side of history. Not impossible, but certainly difficult.>>>>

I'll remind again, republicans are in control of most of the states at the local and state level.
