Lee: IMHO,IMF projections might be as good as projections by other economists. I don't know what their track record is though.

As for Germany's GDP growth, I believe now that they have painfully completed the integration of East Germany, a slightly higher GDP growth than the U.S might be very possible. As regards to France,only time will tell as they have one of the highest unemployment rate in Western Europe. A lot of it depends on how successfully they can latch on to Germany's coat-tail and emulate their monetary and fiscal policies.
