From Australian press posted earlier

"Two-thirds of Americans say that free trade agreements have been a net
destroyer of jobs in the US and oppose any new deals. And this opinion
is reflected directly in the US Congress. When President Clinton
approached the Congress last month for authority to negotiate new trade
deals, the Congress refused.

This is a sobering sign of sentiment. Bill Clinton is the first
president in a quarter of a century to be refused such negotiating
authority."

I guess Mr. Perot was right (for a change) Just did not realise how "jiant" sound will be and where the wind will come from.
