Shotguns are generally used for hunting and different game doesn't require but in most cases is best suited matching the game. Two pistols? One for plinking 22 etc and one for protection 38, 357, 9 mm, 40 cal or 45. One rifle for hunting bigger game at distances rounds out the small arsenal. Regarding life in the city, I believe people don't belong in beehive/ant colony housing. If it is a necessity to live in such crowded conditions one must aware of the statistics as not to assume a false sense of security. Schools of fish use their numbers to confuse predators. That only appears to be safe until a person is the selected prey.
