The Iran Nuclear Deal: A Different Viewpoint

Let's go back to a letter I wrote last year, How to Make Millions from War:

"I want to talk about a subject that the media will never cover.

That's because it involves information that politicians and other "important people" have used in the past to make millions.

And they're still making millions using that same information. As a matter of fact, they're making more than ever.

...Over the past years, specific events propelled the values of many stocks. If you knew these events were coming, you too could have benefited from its information.

This is exactly how politicians, lawmakers, and those who are "in the know" make millions.

Benefit from War Profiteering

You may not like the above subtitle, but its reality.

And since it's not something people like to hear, the media rarely covers this story.

In my last Letter, I talked about how World War II revitalized the American economy.

I talked about why America is on the same path today.

...Since the 2008 financial crisis, the United States has been the world's biggest arms dealer, accounting for 29 percent of global arms exports.

... the US has sent billions of dollars worth of arms to countries in the Middle East, such as Egypt and Israel. These countries are surrounded by some of the world's largest oil resources and coincidently, are also among the biggest recipients of US military aid.

War Creates Jobs

...Weapons transfers do more than just provide "diplomacy"; it provides jobs.

Currently, the United States has 1.3 million active duty military personnel as compared to 770,000 civilian personnel.

The cumulative employees involved in defense*, such as defense contractors, are well over either of those numbers.

The top five defense contractors alone, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics Corp., Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman Corp., combine to provide more than 600,000 jobs.

Now these jobs don't just come from thin air, or just from taxpayers.

In order to create these jobs, you need conflict. But conflict alone isn't enough because someone has to pay for these weapons.

So again, its no surprise that the countries with the biggest appetite for US weapons are oil-rich nations in the Middle East...with the money to pay for them.

And where there's money, there are big corporate profits.

... It's obvious that you can blame growing global conflicts for the dramatic increase in weapons sales to foreign nations.

But weapons sales to foreign nations don't just happen. There's a lot of regulation, and it's not as easy as one might think.

That is until Obama came along.

While the media has portrayed Obama as a stickman-like peacemaker who is calling for defense budget cuts, he has actually been more ruthless than he makes himself out to be.

Under his administration, sales of weapons to other countries have never been greater."

With that knowledge, it comes as no surprise that the nuclear agreement has brought about a whole new arms race in the Middle East. No wonder Obama has vowed to veto any attempt by Republicans trying to derail the nuclear deal.

Israel has already told the world that if the agreement goes through, it would likely mean a war is imminent. GOP presidential candidate and Sen. Lindsey Graham has said that the deal is " akin to declaring war on Israel and the Sunni Arabs," and predicted an arms race.

And while it may seem as if its another political debate between Democrats and Republicans, he may be right.

The battle between Iran and Israel has already been heating up.

Just last year, Iran shot down an Israeli spy drone trying to penetrate the "nuclear off-limits area" of the Natanz nuclear site. And Iran has regularly stated that Israel will shortly be wiped from the face of the Earth.

Via Jerusalem Post:

"Israel will do whatever is necessary to defend the security of the state and its citizens," Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting.

"Yesterday we saw the military parade in Tehran and Iran's exhibition of weapons to the world," Netanyahu said.

"Every year the missiles are bigger and enhanced - in accuracy, strength and deadliness.

However, one thing does not change. What does not change is the inscription 'Death to Israel' on the missiles."

Let's also not forget Iran's other foe, Saudi Arabia. The Saudis have already told the world that should the Iran-nuke deal go through, it too will go and acquire nuclear weapons in preparation.

Fear Not Israel, We'll Help You

So how do you protect Iran's enemies if you are the US? Well, you can't directly help them by launching a direct attack on Iran. But you can sell them weapons.

Just before the deal was signed with Iran, Obama's administration cut deals for $6 billion worth of weapons to the Middle East.

Via Bloomberg:

"An agreement to curb Iran's nuclear program could create a bonanza for U.S. defense contractors who already are benefiting as the Obama administration tries to assuage Israeli and Gulf Arab concerns by cutting deals for more than $6 billion in military hardware.

...A nuclear agreement is likely to prompt Mideast partners to seek improved defense systems from American contractors such as Boeing Co., Lockheed Martin Corp. and Raytheon Co. as well as weapons-makers in France and elsewhere.

...The administration and Congress in May approved a $1.9 billion arms sale to Israel that analysts said probably was meant to offset Israeli objections to an Iran nuclear agreement. The sale included 3,000 Hellfire anti-armor missiles, 250 AIM-120C Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, and 50 BLU-113 "bunker-buster" bombs. Among contractors benefiting were Lockheed, General Dynamics Corp., Raytheon and Elwood National Forge."

So-called analysts say that the administration cut these deals to ease the concerns of Israel regarding the nuclear deal; to deter Iran from striking by beefing up Israel's defense. Perhaps there is more to the story than the media will have you think. What do you think?

Seek the Truth,

Ivan Lo
