>>"Whoever's bread we eat, his song we sing"!

Looks like VVUS mgmt really screwed up in not giving him money too!

Seriously, I think that Vivus IR ought to send a Letter to the Editor
of Barron's pointing out the connection.

-- I can't believe that Barron's would allow a competitor to comment on VVUS's products - and not disclose this information.

-- More importantly is the stock price effect during the coming days and weeks. As a general rule, Barron's can knock the wind out of the sails of a high flyer. But in VVUS's case, it's more of a "see, I told you so" type of article.

-- That being the case, I hope we can weather the storm and have a fourth straight up trading day on Monday and beyond.

Out.

James,
We are involved in several clinical trials in urology. The amount of money available for these studies is enormous. It is not unusual for the fees to be over 5000 dollars per patient. As you can see at that price it is difficult for the investigators to be unbiased. If you pan the sponsors product you will be pure but further studies ($$$$) may be hard to come by. Investigators who just live on study income are to be suspected. Look to the university programs to maintain integrety although recently (U of Mich) there were financial shenanagins related to study grants.
