The food fight that will be the first Republican debate could elevate Trump further. Trump will be center stage. The other candidates are envious and will take obligatory potshots... Trump will find some incredibly snide, headline grabbing method of responding... more coverage, higher polling. The guy really is really amazing at promoting himself. When challenged on why he donates money to the DNC and various Democrats, his response is perfect, "they love me"... "this is the sort of patronage I'm fighting against". He's thought through means of deflecting common criticism: The Republicans taking the potshots have come to him for money in the past. I predict record ratings for Saturday Night Live this fall. What on earth Trump really stands for (besides himself) is anybody's guess.
