Yes, it can be oily... but I only use like a teaspoon of oil to coat the pan which is really not needed at all in a good non-stick pan. And you could always substitute a little salt for the soy for your dietary restrictions.

But I just love oriental food and stir fried rice is the easiest one for me although we once made a mock orental meal we called Turkey Ah So. Obviously it had turkey in it with pineapple chunks and celery and so forth... good over noodles or rice. The kids loved it also... when they were kids. There is an Ah So sauce but we used a bit of duck sauce in it instead. It might be good with the real Ah So sauce in it but I have never had it. The recipe for it can be found here but it sounds more like BBQ sauce:
