<they failed to patent important features like some kind of key software rejection>

Wrong again, oh rocked one. I don't have time to go find it for you, but do a search here and at MF and you'll find the patent for the software that rejects non-IOM disks. I believe this is one Nomai must be violating, and so has yet to be decided.

I think this was a major oversight by Iomegabut one that is correctable. If it were true that the Nomai disks work successfully on 11,000,000 Zip drives but Iomega institutes a fix that makes Nomai disks not functional on all future drives, Nomai can then only claim that their disks work on "some" Zip drives. This sounds like a tenuous marketing position. Iomega has no obligation to make their drives compatable with Nomai's disks.

nomai the learning experience.
i still dont believe nomai should have the right to produce disks
for a product they had no consequence in creating. however,
regardless of the outcome just remember the clik and any following
product will benefit from what iom learns during this process. do believe the new jazz2 zip2 and clik is benefiting currently w/ increased patent and development protection. so, you can kind of look at it as nomai teaching iom new ways to better protect iom products.
imho regards

<<Let me ask you this...how many Zip drives are there out there right now that will
presently accept Nomai Zip discs with no problem?

Answer: 11,000,000+

Any "fixes" to the Nomai problem will only work on Zip drives made AFTER right
now--not correct the problem in these older drives.>>

Correct, Rocky. Please write us a valid package warning that Nomai might use.

Example: "These disks are compatible with most Zip drives."

I assume, of course, that Nomai will offer a money back guarantee for any disk that goes bad or doesn't work.
