When it comes to taxation and the related Law, bear in mind that Tax Avoidance is not illegal, whereas Tax Evasion is. If someone has the financial wherewithal to employ tax advisors to enable them to legally pay less tax then what's the problem ? If anyone has a problem with that then there's nothing stopping them from interrogating the legal system and finding out for themselves how to avoid tax for themselves. And if "the government" or "any government" is particularly incensed that there are those that Avoid Tax then there's nothing stopping them either from promulgating the necessary legislation to close whatever loopholes they deem necessary in order to prevent current Tax Avoidance. And if there are those in the public domain that are of the opinion that their political representatives are not doing enough to prevent Tax Avoiders, then those members of the public should bear in mind that politicians are there as a result of the votes they receive from the public and are there to serve the public and not the other way around. So I can only suggest that if enough members of the public are incensed by the behaviour of their elected representatives, that they get off their collective butts and make their voices heard, loud and clear, through the ballot box. If you feel that strongly about the law being written to the benefit of the wealthy then why don't you do something constructive about it ? Someone of the calibre of Ralph Nader had strong concerns in the areas of consumer protection, humanitarianism, environmentalism, etc.. In the early years of his concern he was a lone voice out there. But that didn't stop him from making his voice heard and making a difference. And I suggest you are being naive if you believe that many of those who became rich and eventually became a millionaire, or billionaire, through legitimate means, did not work their a--se off getting there. Maybe, once they got rich, they may have spread the load because they could afford to do so, but en route they would have worked their butts off .... just as hard as anyone else.
