If for no other reason, the Republicans are going ape shit as it is when the topic of Hillary comes up. They are like tiger shark pups in the womb. They are at the stage where they are attacking each other and chewing each other up. Eventually, the strongest will win and that one gets born. Then they can focus on Hill. I am not a fan, however. She is better than anyone on the clown car or has any prospects of being on there. She is competent and, more importantly, surrounds herself with competent people. I like Bernie, but he has no real chance. Or at least, shows no prospect. Maybe he can hit on something that resonates. The other two are zeroes right now. Even more dubious than Bernie. .My real point is that Hillary is pretty tone deaf when it comes to measuring what drives the electorate. And she isn't very nimble. There are some powerful forces at work in this country. A lot of anger at the status quo. If someone comes on the scene that can focus it, they are going to win. For good or ill, Hillary ain't that person. Bernie isn't it either. Now there are those on the Right, Cruz comes to mind, who would love to be that person. But the country isn't in that kind of mood. No one on the Right is willing to do more than pay lip service to inequality. Cruz certainly won't, he feels entitled to be one of the ones on top. Supposedly there is an ancient Chinese curse that translates to "may you live in interesting times". Things may get interesting. From a historical point of view. All of the needed pieces are on the board. All they need to do is be put into play. Like "creative financial instruments", "interesting times" is really something you don't want to experience in person.
