That would be sad if it gets pissed away.

That has already started. One thing that we got with Republican rule has been becoming a premier kleptocracy. Still nowhere near the lofty heights that Russia has attained, but doing an admirable job with the limited resources the state has. The gold is held by the UT investment fund for UT and TAMU.And that fund is slowly being partitioned off into the hands of Perry and Abbott's cronies.

Its stunning they get away with this corruption. Where is the media? Bought?

It is another Libertarian fantasy. They will try and get a few, idealistic investors. After a while, things will stagnate and the managers will get a little creative to get past this or that temporary problem. Sooner or later it will evolve into a Ponzi scheme, whether or not that was the original goal. Then it will see some strong growth, eventually collapsing in a shower of lawsuits and exclamations of "how could anyone have seen this coming?" and "they seemed like such nice, friendly and helpful people"...

Oh and "it would have worked if there hadn't been so many gosh-darned regulations".

They get away with this crap because people are not well educated and informed. Two years ago, the Seattle Times decided to write a series of articles about the GOP candidate for governor............just the GOP candidate. They made some excuse that it was like a documentary and they would not show favoritism. Of course, everyone knew that the Times was owned by a Republican and that they would be puff pieces. When word got out, readership plummeted.......almost killed the paper. The owner has never tried to pull a similar stunt.

If the electorate is not informed or educated, leaders can get away with this crap. The US is one of the wealthiest nations in the world but we refuse to spend enough money on our K-12 educational system.
