Mary, Drew Peck is an analyst at Cowen & co and they do have a relatively good reputation as a specialist in Technology companies. But of course you do know how often they are accurate in predicting things, not very often as far as I can tell. I think 'Stockman' seems to know a bit more about Drew Peck and his batting average, may I suggest that you read his post # 42961.

As for his comments about current processor technology being at the end of its line etc, I let Paul Engel answer that as he is more qualifed than I in this sort of thing.

Mary - Re: "Please explain to us what Drew means when he states "we've come to about the end of the line, as far as I can see, for microprocessors that conform to the old Intel standard"

It means the Peck cannot see beyond the tip of his nose.

For reference, Peck is the semi analyst as Cowen & Co.

As StockMan (I think) pointed out, Peck has been trashing Intel for about a year while HYPING the h*ll out of AMD and Cyrix. He was one of the crowd - Erika Klauer, Mark Edlestone, Michael Gumport and Peck - that was predicting AMD would go to $60 or $90 and take major market share away from Intel in the middle of this year.

If you follow Peck's statements & interviews, etc. - he ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to say anything about AMD or Cyrix - trying to make everybody forget his bum-brained bamboozzled predictions - yet he still makes sure he " damns Intel with faint praise."
