<believe there's a lot more going on than simple manipulation>

Of course. We all know there's numerous factors which influence the price of any market or investment vehicle over time. They wax and wane in importance and you have to pay attention and give the appropriate weight to each when you establish or exit a position.

OTOH, do you deny manipulation of markets occurs??

That seems to me to be an impossible position to defend with the mountain of evidence to the contrary which has accumulated over the years.

One other, minor point...)) The reality of the ebb and flow of manipulation, over time, is certainly not an excuse for me. Made a small fortune in my long trading career, and have no need for excuses.

Manipulation is simply a factor, sometimes a very large one, in the price equation, that you have to consider in evaluating the risk/reward of any prospective trade or investment. It takes many forms. To ignore or deny it is naive and foolish, IMO.
