JK There was a great story about a critque of art at an alumni function. THe artist, who was white, had painted afro-centric imagery. The students, who were predominantly Afro-centric separtists found the artist to be 'robbing' them of their culture.One separatist was very vocal and claimed every African contribution to society had been stolen by the white man, the way 'Elvis' had stolen the blues. A small group of art students from Ivory Coast, Africa stood-up and said..."You're not African, I am!, You're from Detroit!", with this the student from Detroit came back with.."I don't need Africans to come over here to the United States and tell me about Africa!!!" .....and so it goes....!, Pugs
