Sort of like blowing a trillion dollars on "stimulus" for no real reason at all other than to make political payoffs.

I think we can agree on one thing, enormous debt is first and foremost the result of enormous spending. How much of it is wasteful, how much is lavish, how much is nonessential, how much defies cost/benefit practicality, how much is mis-targeted, how much is inefficient, how much is mismanaged, how much is fraudulent, how much serves my interests but harms yours and vice versa, how much should be forgone because the private sector could perform the very same function?

If you are going to support a Government that takes care of us, rather than a government that serves us in a productive spirit, then the government must also be seen as a wealthy beneficent provider to all. It’s not and can never be.
