Interesting article except that the author has failed too see the lie of the 22 billion dollar 1997 deficit. It is 188 billion - check the treasury site itself for the real number. The fact that congress has moved lots of stuff off the books doesn't change reality. He is correct, the deficit will grow in a recession but it's already nearly twice his projected 100 billion before a recession. What's worse is that the Social Security fraud is NOT included in the 188 billion dollar number!
