I have been following the foreign holders of US debt for several months (Barron's MW 105, and Randall Forsyth's column) and these agree with your assertion that this inflow is grinding to a halt. We all want to know the answer to when the deflation will occur. If things worldwide get as bad as I fear (perhaps irrationally), we may have more to worry about than our current stock and option positions. Worldwide bad times have always led to demagogic dictators, xenophobia, and, unfortunately, war. Lets hope there will be an orderly return to fair values for our bloated market.
