Sanders isn't a populist, he's a hardcore non-thinking socialist ... when he said we didn't need all those different kinds of deodorants and tennis shoes, he showed that he's just another Hugo Chavez type who thinks society should be run based on his personal tastes. Try applying Sander's ideas to music .... you'd end up with ONE band (made up of unionized government employee musicians) playing ONE song all the time. A govt commission, or perhaps Sanders himself, would decide periodically to change the ONE song to another ONE song. A Bernie Sanders America would have one kind of toilet paper and it would be in shortage and thus too valuable for trade purposes to use.
