David, I agree. I am one of those people that invested every penny into the company I worked for. An employee should have a feel for where the company he is working for is headed.

Also, comparing Osicom to Microsoft is unfair. Many 401k investors don't know the difference between an LTV and Microsoft. No biggie, however??

Let the buyer beware????, IMHO of course, doesn't fit always.

Would you have been giving the same advice year ago? Did Osicom employees see what was around the corner then? Talk to any reputable financial planner -- none will advise dropping a huge percentage of any retirement plan into one asset. Even 10 to 20 percent would be way too high, unless you want to gamble with, instead of invest, your retirement capital. The Microsoft example doesn't fit here, at all.
