Jesus never taught the state should take wealth away from people and redistribute it. He taught generosity and charitableness to the needy but that was for individuals, not the state.

It was Judas Iscariot who complained when a woman anointed Jesus feet with perfume, saying "This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor." Maybe Judas was the first socialist.

Actually Jesus taught that that His Kingdom wasn't found here on this earth. Therefore earthly possessions were way, way down on the totem pole. This teaching is ignored by those on the left and the right almost universally.

Self is the priority and submitting to God and his will as jesus taught is derided.

One teaching ignored by the right and omitted by the left is this:

The nations were angry,
and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name,
both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

It makes sense if you believe in God the Creator. He made the earth and wants us to take care of it.
