Mohan,

With China favoring their domestic producers, this news is more important to INTC than it is to DELL or CPQ. INTC will get the chip business.

Mohan, Re: Chinese PC market to triple - Hi Mohan, From what I read, the consumer PC business there is cutthroat and it competes alongside people assembling their own PCs. Acer, among others, seems to have a considerable advantage. Perhaps the more important thrust for Dell though, are the workstation and server products as business there is making big investments on IT spending. The main concern, I gather, is to bring outdated and outmoded industrial and business operations up to snuff with current technology. That said, in today's issue there was an icon for Dell entitled "Click Here to See How to Build your Own PC".

scmp.com

They also discuss Seagate, Quantum, Apple, and SIIC. However, in their Dell article, they kind of took liberty with the daily internet sales. (Instead of an "occasional" $6m day, it sounds like that's standard net sales)

Regards,

Lee
