Yes and tell those congress critters to stop trying to kill the A10, the cheapest most effective plane we have today.

You won't find many who would argue with you.

The problem is that the F-35B makes a lot of sense for many of our allies like Japan. It gives them the ability to field aircraft carriers using their existing fleet. They have several classes of helicarriers that can field the F-35B. And that gives China indigestion in light of their annexing of the South China Sea. China is spending a lot of money to field conventional aircraft carriers and turning various tiny islands into airbases.

Japan is far from the only country interested in this. All of the countries with competing claims to the South China Sea should be interested in doing something similar.

But the F-35B doesn't make much sense without the F-35A and F-35C. So we are probably stuck with them.
