Nice close out on VIPS yesterday. No time to write this one up yet but there is some good discussion over on SA. Some good ideas here I need to read up on today. Re: oil patch Interesting that yuan devaluation didn't knock crude much. Is the market expecting the Iran accord to encounter bumps? Time will tell, but personally I'm still hoping for $45/ bbl. Re: forensic metrics Has anyone looked at Beneish M-score? Haven't used this much in the past but was interested that it flagged several known manipulators including CONN, VIPS, BABA. I am investigating using this as part of my short screens. Another metric I'm experimenting with is Rev/ Assets. Usual margin sensitivity, but within an industry I'm finding it seems to be a predictor of asset quality. Thoughts appreciated, Graham
