and no abortion after viability...which as inode noted, is a moving benchmark...

at 24 weeks............the majority are viable
at 20 weeks............very very few are viable (certainly not ZERO)
at 18 weeks............none are viable.

So my compromise is 18 weeks...........the rationale is that a primi born at 20 weeks will get extraordinary care to try to save the baby..............all three concerns/interests (mother/baby/medical profession) are in complete concert. At 20 weeks for an aborted fetus...........the fetus and mothers interest are in direct opposition but the medical professions interest is and always has to be to preserve life. At 18 weeks for an aborted fetus, again the the interests of the mother and fetus contradict...........but the medical profession can not influence the outcome as survival before 18 weeks is not possible. So the woman gets complete choice up to 18 weeks.......but not beyond...............now one may argue 16,17,18,19 weeks......so let that be up to the medical community and set a LIMIT..............in lieu of that, I say 18 weeks .....PERIOD. Now again, where do YOU set the limit? ......a specific week
