<<<<< According to this article Dec 19 was the last day money managers can dump. Does
that mean the market will be less turbulent and does that also explain Friday.>>>>>

Market analysis
Can you say "window dressing?" For many stocks, today's tone will likely
be set by portfolio managers dumping stocks they don't want on their
books by year's end. Today is the money
managers' last day of liquidity for the year, so
you can bet they'll take advantage of it. With
option expirations, I'm expecting a lot of
volatility in both stocks and bonds. For
investors hunting bargain stock prices, this is the
time. Since portfolio managers dump shares
without any idea of the companies'
fundamentals or valuations, many stocks may
trade down to bargain levels. With all the earnings warnings we've heard,
the market will probably continue to experience selling pressure. Again, I
believe this market's savior will be declining interest rates. I would not
conclude too much from Thursday's market drop.
