Not that Foundry is a bad company or that they make bad products, but I'd be really SHOCKED if Cisco or John Chambers want anything to do with Bobby Johnson. I don't think they have the best Gig product anyhow, but this is of course biased, since I work for the company with the best Gig product line, Bay Networks. ;-] My opinion only. Tom

Willie - This statement is a bit biased isnt it? Doesn't your best buddy actually work at Foundry - isn't that the case? Your "inside" stoodge left Bay and went to work for Foundry and that's why you no longer have any "inside" information about Bay ... isnt that the real truth? Foundry is made up from a bunch of the Centillion folks who couldn't make it at Bay... your stoodge used to work in the Centillion BU... leaks about products no longer occur ... do the math. And I dont think that a Layer-3 Switch is differentiated by the SW as much as it is from its ASICs... Accelar (formally known as Rapid City) has much better ASIC technology than Foundry... believe me. Cruiser PS - Willie - Happy Holidays, glad to have you back on this thread.
