"that earnings might not be so bad in 98", or that they may "very well [have] been" excessively revised downward?

Hi GZ:

I forgot to mention that my oversold indicator is now neutral. It is closer to oversold but it is neutral. Along with the spent selling pressures of last Friday, this should get us to January in an uneventful manner. I hope so anyway. The 5th to the 9th is the opportunity for bulls to buy. If they do not buy, the bears will own the 12th to the 31st.

The bears may define the year--or most of it. But, I am not clairvoyant. I only have an opinion on this.
