“There are no good or evil people; there are no good or evil acts. His worldview doesn't support this judgment. All he can do is report what he does and doesn't like, personal tastes about religion and behavior.”

Dumb thing to say. There is no “evil” as it is understood in Christian terms as “sin” devolving from a supernatural being opposed to God. But there is obviously good and evil in terms of value judgement--and for the most part it varies very little. What helps us is what we call the good. What hurts us is what we call evil.

“How can anything ultimately be evil or good in a universe bereft of any standard to make sense of the terms?”

HUH?? The standard walks with you and sleeps with you. The standard is YOU. Who else tells you when you have been wronged? People ask you…did he/she hurt you?? Are you OK?? How are you feeling?? Etc. It is YOU who decides when you have been treated wrongly—when you have been hurt rather than helped.

Or they may ask you…why are you so slooooooow on the uptake, Greg or ee??

The reason I correctly said that, “The fictional thing that you value was perhaps the most immoral thing in all the history of tribal fiction”, Is because there is a consensus amongst decent people that your fictional sky fairy violated all the normal standards held by most humans in terms of behaviour. That fictional thing displayed values appropriate TO SERIAL KILERS, RAPISTS AND OTHER SUCH HURTFUL THINGS THAT MAKE UP A PART--(thankfully, a small part) of the human condition.

And please don’t ask where we get our “standards” from. We get it from our life—from our nature. We don’t like being killed. We don’t like being harmed. And conversely--there are things that we certainly DO like! Not rocket appliances, Ricky….

"The atheist must solve the problem of good"

Crap! There is no problem of good! Why we wish to survive and be safe and avoid harm is not a puzzle. Self interest is not confusing to most people.

"The only thing he has gotten rid of is hope."

What does rejecting superstition and irrationality have to do with hope?? Is rejecting garbage the same as refusing to eat?
