What's your take TL

I'm with Steve Harmen on this, doc.

What's Hot In 1998?

"Steve, how about a shopping list of your top Internet stocks picks for '98?"

Reply: We don't make recommendations per se on specific stocks but will certainly be watching the security software sector
and firms such as CheckPoint (NASDAQ:CHKPF - news) , Axent (NASDAQ:AXNT - news) , Trusted Information Systems
(NASDAQ:TSIX - news) ; also, database software may become louder on Wall Street's radar as these companies could take
center stage in Internet commerce. After all, what's Amazon.com but a fantastic front end built around a book publishing
database?

Look for search and navigation hubs to be acquired by old fashioned media giants or broadcasters. If News Corp. was going
to pay $450 million for PointCast what would it pay for Excite (NASDAQ:XCIT - news) or Lycos (NASDAQ:LCOS - news)
with an order of magnitude more users? What the Time Warner, VIACOM and Disneys will (hopefully) realize is that the Web
networks are the new media positions to be in.

Between Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO - news) and these others they are effectively the Internet for millions of people every day.
More on 1998 in a future Internet Stock Report.
