27% of prison inmates in the US are illegal aliens.

Based on the Congressional Register for 2012:

Counting only federal prisons: Incarcerated Illegal Aliens

25%According to the Government Accountability Office, the percent of inmates in federal prisons who are in the country illegally. The GAO also found that criminal illegal aliens were arrested an average of 7 times. (Source: GAO) numbersusa.org

This shows that illegals are way over-represented when it comes to crime. Some illegals may be coming here because crime is more lucrative in a richer country. For those who just come to work, knowing they don't have to worry about being deported removes an incentive to stay out of trouble.

We've also been encouraging illegals to bring their families here because they can get on our social programs, they can file taxes on fake SSN's and get EITC's and child tax credits. So we're paying to import a big illegal population. This is crazy.

Furthermore, illegals are taking low skilled jobs that would otherwise would be held by American citizens. This kills the opportunities and work ethic of our native born poor citizens.

We're creating big problems for ourselves that we don't have to. Without those pro-illegal polices, we'd no doubt still have some lower level of illegals entering to work off the books, send money home, stay out of trouble, and in time go home. The blame belongs to the Democrats (who are openly working to maximize illegal entry) and to the GOP establishment (who are covertly going along).
